Recent Airtel ad for smart phone network is going
viral in Twitter. The gist of the ad is boss asks her employee to complete the task without time delay and at the end
of the day she went home and cook for her husband. She calls her husband aka employee
for dinner via video call.
Boss Film Airtel campaign obviously propagates women
empowerment. The flaw in this video is showing women can break the glass
ceiling in work place but still her place is in the kitchen (stereotype).
The advertisement starts with the focus on women empowerment
and end with typical conservative attitude. It stirs
the viewers to go viral slamming the ad campaign. Anyway advertisement is to
promote the product creating publicity. Airtel is famous for its aggressive ad campaign.
